バンナ公園とは
日本最南端の都市公園であるバンナ公園は、石垣市街地の北に位置する標高230mのバンナ岳を中心とした、広大な自然環境の中にあります。山の地形を活かして整備された展望台や散策路では、亜熱帯の風を感じながら、ここでしか見られないような珍しい植物に出会うこともできます。島の豊かな自然にふれ、季節のうつろいや命の営みに目を向けることで、訪れる人それぞれが自分なりの楽しみ方を見つけられる場所となっています。
Banna Park, Japan’s southernmost city park, is nestled within a vast natural environment centered around Mount Banna, standing 230 meters above sea level north of Ishigaki City.
Utilizing the mountain’s terrain, the park features observation decks and walking paths where visitors can feel the subtropical breeze and encounter rare plants found nowhere else. By connecting with the island’s rich nature and observing the changing seasons and the cycle of life, each visitor can discover their own unique way to enjoy this place.

バンナ公園は石垣島の南側に位置しています。沖縄本島からは約400km、本州からは約2,000km離れた、空と海に囲まれた離島です。
総面積は約279ヘクタール。この広大な敷地の中に、本州や沖縄本島では出会えない生きものたちが息づいています。

日本最南端の森林公園であるバンナ公園は、石垣市街地の北方にそびえる標高230mのバンナ岳周辺の広大な自然環境下にあります。園内は5つのゾーンに分かれ、山の地形を生かした広場や、亜熱帯性気候風土を感じさせる多くの植物が観察できる散策路があります。
Banna Park, the southernmost forest park in Japan, is located in a vast natural environment around 230-meter-high Banna-dake (Mt. Banna), which rises to the north of Ishigaki City. The park is divided into 5 zones, including a plaza that takes advantage of the mountain topography and walking paths where you can observe many plants that remind us of the subtropical climate.

石垣島を見渡せる
ロケーション
園内には数多くの展望台があり、多様な景色を楽しむことができます。南側に位置するエメラルドの海を見る展望台からは、石垣島一体と竹富島や崎枝半島などを一望でき、北側に位置する南の島展望台からは、山々や田園などの穏やかな原風景を一望できます。
There are many observatories in the park, offering a variety of views. The observatory on the south side overlooking the emerald sea offers a panoramic view of Ishigaki Island, Taketomi Island, and Sakieda Peninsula, while the observatory on the north side overlooking the southern island offers a peaceful original landscape of mountains and rice paddies.

個性豊かな
動植物・昆虫
園内には八重山列島の固有種である、カンムリワシやヤエヤマセマルハコガメなどが生息しており、それらを間近で観察することができます。また秋にはサシバが飛来し、渡り鳥観察所などから「鷹柱」が見られることも。昆虫館では、石垣島の昆虫はもちろんのこと、世界の昆虫標本をご覧いただけます。
The park is home to crested serpent eagles and Yaeyama semalwyns, which are endemic to the Yaeyama Archipelago, and can be observed up close. In addition, in autumn, sasiba (Japanese hornbills) fly in and “hawk pillars” can be seen from the Migratory Bird Observation Center and other places. In the Insectarium, you can see not only insects of Ishigaki Island but also insect specimens from all over the world.

自然の中の遊び場
小さなお子さまから小学生まで、誰もがのびのびと楽しめる遊具エリアがあります。すべり台やネット遊具、広々とした芝生広場など、自然の中で、体を思いっきり動かせる環境が整っているので、“外あそび”の楽しさを全身で感じることができます。
There is a playground area where everyone from small children to elementary school students can have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. The playground is equipped with slides, net play equipment, and a spacious lawn area where children can move their bodies with all their might in a natural setting, allowing them to experience the joy of “playing outside” with all their being.

管理棟が位置しています。主要なインフォメーション機能を備え、自然体験学習も行えます。そのほか松林の散策などを行うことが出来ます。

展望台エリア
石垣島の市街地を一望できる展望台が並ぶ人気ルート。ドライブコースとしてバンナ岳を堪能できます。
Cゾーン：
メインエリア
石垣ダムの周辺に位置し、遠足やピクニックを行う各種団体の利用も多く、熱帯果樹園やヤシ園など自然教育の一貫を担うゾーンとなっています。
Dゾーン：
自然探索エリア
川上流域に数多く生息する石垣島固有の動植物を通して、自然観察や森林散策をすることができる場所となっています。
Eゾーン：
アクティビティ・遊具エリア
さまざまな遊びやスポーツを提供するゾーン。幼児から大人まで楽しめる多種多様な遊具や、お祭り行事などを行うことができる広場などがあります。

大自然を安全にのびのびと楽しみ、生きものを楽しく知れるコース。遊具がたくさんの広場を楽しんだあとは、ビジターセンターでほっと一息。昆虫館で見つけた生きものを答え合わせしよう。
This is a course where you can enjoy the great outdoors in a safe and relaxing environment and learn about living creatures in a fun way. After enjoying the playground full of playground equipment, take a breather at the Visitor Center. Let’s try to answer the questions about the creatures you found at the Insectarium.

Model Course – Banna Wildlife Exploration Course
より一歩踏み込んだ亜熱帯の世界へ。数多くの植物たちがひしめき合う密林へ分け入り、散策路からは見られない固有種を探そう。探検気分で満喫できる周遊コース。
Take a step further into the subtropical world. Enter the dense forest where numerous plants thrive and search for endemic species that cannot be seen from the walking trails. Enjoy the thrill of exploration on this circular course.

Model Course – A course to enjoy the scenery
バンナ公園からの爽快・壮大な景色を味わうドライブコース。展望台からエメラルドブルーの海と石垣市街を一望。南北にかかるスカイラインを走り、星空観察で一日を締めくくります。
A driving course offering refreshing and spectacular views from Banna Park. Take in the emerald blue sea and Ishigaki cityscape from the observation deck. Drive along the skyline stretching from north to south, and end the day with stargazing.

Activity Courses –
Night Tour
夜のバンナ公園を歩き、生きものを観察するナイトツアーです。ガイドが植物や昆虫、夜に活動する動物たちについてわかりやすく解説します。普段は見ることができない、「夜の自然」を親子で楽しく学べます。
This night tour takes you through Banna Park after dark to observe wildlife. Your guide will provide easy-to-understand explanations about plants, insects, and nocturnal animals. Enjoy learning about the “nighttime nature” you don’t usually see, together with your children.
バンナ公園の自然
バンナ公園は丘陵地を中心に、森・湿地・草地などの生態系が園内に広がっており、石垣島を代表するさまざまな動植物が自然のままの姿で暮らしています。ここでは園内で見られる生きものたちの一部を紹介します。
Banna Park is centered on a hilly terrain, with forests, wetlands, grasslands, and other ecosystems spread throughout the park, where a variety of plants and animals representative of Ishigaki Island live in their natural state. Here we introduce some of the creatures that can be seen in the park.
